Jhené Aiko Wears her Heart On Her Sleeve, Literally
“What you won't do, do for love, You tried everything, but you don't give up” . And so goes the 1997 Tupac hit. We all have stories of the lengths we have gone for love. Just 2 weeks ago, the internet was ablaze with folks sharing how far they would gladly go #ForTheD. Jhené Aiko must have looked at us and shook her head at what underachievers we all were as a society. She then set out to outdo every last one of us in a move that has dominated water-cooler conversations for the last 24 hours. Miss Aiko, bless her heart, went and tattooed her boyfriend Big Sean’s face on her upper arm.
At what point in a 29 year old woman’s life does this begin to seem like a good idea? We all have agency over our own bodies and should be allowed to decide what we do on every inch of our skin but a shocker is a shocker and we are shocked.
Jhené and Big Sean have been together for a year now and they are also a music duo under the moniker Twenty88. It’s safe to say that artistically and emotionally they are on the same wavelength but inking someone’s face on a part of your body that’s susceptible to wrinkling? Wow sis, so much certainty. We don't know Big Sean personally but if his string of exes who oddly kind of look like Aiko are anything to go by, this isn't the guy you tattoo on your arm.
However, these two are probably the cutest pair in music and we have been rooting for them since their earlier collaborations when they weren’t even together yet. “I know” was a bop and their chemistry was audible. We do wish them everything of the best in their relationship and otherwise - we have no doubts that there is nothing Jhené won’t do to keep that love alive. #Kwesefied
