#ATCL collection showcases plus-size fashion for the first time at Glitz Africa Fashion Week
Back in 2016, 'About that Curvy Life', a brand founded by Fashion and Style Mediapreneur, Latasha Ngwube, made history at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week when the #ATCL Collective presented plus-size models that stormed the runway rocking clothes from 5 designers showcasing plus-size collections.
Now, 'About that Curvy Life' is back with another first- plus-size models will walk the runway for the first time at the Glitz Africa Fashion Week, today, Saturday the 7th of October.
Expected to showcase are 1 Mens-Wear designer (Assian) and 2 Womens-Wear designers (Abaya Lagos by Salihat and Nori Clothing).
One of the models for tonight is Ghanaian radio host, AJ Sarpong, who is also one of the ATCL Collective ambassadors. The other is Anita Matey, a Ghanaian-New York base plus size fashion blogger, women's advocate and creator of Foreign Curves blog.
In a statement, Anita said she is thrilled to be a part of this historic moment and see plus size women, and fashion being recognised seriously in the African fashion industry. AJ on her part said she is beyond excited about the showcase because it will change the narrative about women owning their curves in fashion. According to her, it is time for us all to celebrate our beautiful, desirable and alluring curves!
The Glitz Africa Fashion Week holds this weekend at Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, Accra, Ghana.
